The problem
Job-specific jaws and fixtures get borrowed, misplaced and rebuilt. Nobody knows which job a fixture belongs to or who has it.
What it does
- Track serialised fixtures and soft jaws as individual assets
- Checkout and return, just like tools and gauges
- FX- numbering and a clear who-has-what
- Tie a fixture to the job it belongs to
Who it's for
Setters and the toolroom managing job-specific workholding.
Works with
Works on its own - no other module required.
Common questions
What does it replace?
The hunt for the right soft jaws or fixture, and the spreadsheet that is supposed to track them.
Who is it for, and do I actually need it?
Shops running job-specific jaws and fixtures. You need it if a fixture has ever gone missing between jobs, or two jobs fought over the same one.
Does it need another module?
No. Fixtures stands on its own. It tracks serialised jaws and fixtures with the same checkout and return TRS already uses for tools.
How does it make the rest of TRS better?
It puts fixtures under the same take and return habit and the same location map as everything else, so a serialised jaw has one home and one trail, not a separate spreadsheet to keep in sync.
Can't I just track fixtures in Inventory?
You can track quantities there. Fixtures tracks each serialised unit, so you know which exact jaw is out, on which job, and when it is due back.
